Constructed of aluminum oxide abrasive on intermediate-weight paper (D-weight for grades 40, P60, P80; C-weight for grades P100?P800), 3M NX Hook and Loop Paper Disc offers aggressive cut and long life, and is well suited for high production operations as well as general purpose applications on paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and fiberglass. An open coat construction and a load resistant coating help prevent clogging when working with softwoods or paint. The disc features a hook-and-loop backing that provides ease of attachment and reuse, and the durable paper backing stands up to extended use with dual action or random orbital sanders.

Our 3M NX Hook and Loop Paper Disc features an open coat that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. In open coat construction the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust and debris have an outlet rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade. A load-resistant coating further prevents wood dust, paint particles, and other debris from prematurely clogging the surface of the disc, optimizing cut-rate and disc life.

Our Hook-and-loop discs are quick and easy to change when switching from one grade to another, and can be reused again and again until worn out (whereas adhesive-backed discs are typically discarded after one use because the adhesive backing will not re-adhere a second time).
