A Thin Attachment Tape for Wider Lightweight Trim and Moldings
Our 3M™ Automotive Attachment Tape 06378 is ideal for permanent attachment of lighter moldings, trims, nameplates and emblems to automotive surfaces. This OEM approved .03” (.76 mm) attachment tape is built with a viscoelastic foam core that provides a blend of strength and conformability for a flush, professional appearance even across long applications such as door edge moldings. It is engineered for stress relaxation when exposed to high stress loads, and maintains bond-line aesthetics under normal stress loads. A durable acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive is applied to both sides of the foam core, and delivers high peel performance and shear strength as well as resistance to plasticizers. This adhesive provides good wet-out properties across a full 7/8” width for reliable application of wider parts. A red liner provides easy one-piece release for efficient application. The gray-colored tape blends well with automotive surfaces for a smooth appearance.

3M recommends the use of 3M™ Automotive Adhesion Promoter 06396 for tape-to-part adhesion with 3M tape 06378 on all plastic parts such as RIM, TPO, PPO, PP and PC.
