We designed our 3M™ Perfect-It™ Wool Compound Pad with 100% wool for your most aggressive scratch removal applications. Part of a highly efficient system for paint defect repair, the Perfect-It™ Wool Compound Pad is 3M’s highest performing wool compounding pad, whether single or double-sided.  Wool cuts faster than foam, and stays cooler by creating less friction and dissipating heat through the wool fibers. This makes it preferable for heat-sensitive areas of a car, boat, or plane, such as spoilers and bumpers.

Wool pads also handle better than flat foam pads, meaning the operator gains a smoother and more controlled application. Wool glides easily over panels, whether flat or contoured. Spurring the wool fibers each morning before the first use restores performance. Compound with the pad flat against the part for a more even application and to reduce slinging.

Use a Perfect-It™ Wool Compound Pad to refine P1200 and finer sand scratches and other paint surface defects. We highly recommend pairing the pad with Perfect-It™ EX Rubbing Compound to produce first-rate results on fresh paint and clearcoat finishes and avoid rework.

Our single-sided wool pad is constructed with single ply untwisted wool with a 1.5? pile height. It attaches to your rotary tool with our 3M™ Hookit™ 7? Backup Pad 05717 or 3M™ Perfect-It™ 7? Backup Pad 05718. The Hookit™ hook-and-loop feature of these pads makes abrasive attachment, removal, and re-attachment clean and easy, and facilitates use and re-use for the full extent of its abrasive life. Hookit™ attachment features J-shaped hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday hook-and-loop applications. Hookit™ grips the brushed nylon loop backings of hook-and-loop disc pads, hand boards, air file shoes and more. It’s simple: just slap it on and start sanding. The abrasive removes just as cleanly and easily. The Hookit™ system is designed for work spaces and applications where adhesive attachment backing may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris.

The backup pad enables users to attach the wool pad without having to remove the 3M™ Adaptor 05710, meaning even faster transitions in multi-step processes (all accessories sold separately).
