Runs Wet or Dry
We engineered our 3M Hookit Cloth Disc 359F with a water-resistant polyester cloth backing, so it could be run wet or dry. Known for their durability and flexibility, cloth-backed discs are a good first choice when working with metal or heavy wood stock removal. Our disc is resin-bonded, enabling it to withstand high heat and pressure. Its ability to withstand high pressure grinding contributes to its extended service life and, subsequently, reduces operating costs.
Our 3M Hookit Cloth Disc 359F features aluminum oxide mineral. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications and is suitable on a variety of substrates. This disc is a great match for paint prep, defect repair or AOEM metal finishing.
Hookit Attachment
3M offers a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life.
