Recommended for Lamination to Many Open and Closed Cell Foams
3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape L2+T5 features 5.0 mils (.12 mm) of adhesive coated on a 6.2 mils (.14 mm), 83 lb. polycoated kraft paper liner. This adhesive transfer tape is recommended for lamination to many open and closed cell foams, where adhesive conformability and wet-out is valued over dimensional stability during lamination. It offers initial high tack to many open and closed cell foams and can withstand temperatures up to 225ºF (107ºC). With excellent peel adhesion and shear strength, it offers a reliable bond on polyurethane (PU) ether, PU ester, cross-linked polyethylene foam, EPDM foam, neoprene foam, nitrile foam and microcellular foam.
Recommended Applications
- Foam lamination
Understanding Adhesive Transfer Tapes
3M adhesive transfer tapes are pressure sensitive adhesives coated on a release liner, without a scrim or carrier. These adhesive tapes are more conformable than double coated adhesive tapes for applications with textured or irregular surfaces. For application, the tape is positioned, adhesive side down, to a surface and the liner is removed, exposing the backside of the adhesive to the joining surface.
