How Holder Pads Help
Holder pads are commonly used in many industrial applications, because they help expedite the deburring, blending, cleaning and finishing processes by making disc and tool attachment swift and easy. Rather than being required to use special tools to manipulate the fastening of the disc to the tool, users can simply use a holder pad. Holder pads are especially useful when there are many discs in a sequence, taking the sweat and fuss out of swapping discs.
Our Standard Abrasives™ Hook and Loop Disc Pad allows for easy change out of Hook and Loop discs, such as Surface Conditioning Discs (SC RC SC FE SC GP), during multi-step projects. Holder pads act like conduits between abrasive discs and tools – valuable connectors that speed the process.
Extra Cushion
Hook and Loop Disc Pads have small plastic hooks that attach to loops on the back of the abrasive. Small tufts of fiber are pulled through scrim on the abrasive to create loops which, subsequently, attach to the hooks. The hook-and-loop feature makes disc attachment, removal, and re-attachment easy and facilitates use and re-use of the disc for the extent of the abrasive life.
The Hook and Loop Disc Pads act like a cushion, providing some shock-absorption and buoyancy, especially when compared to other attachment styles and holder pads. Hook and Loop Disc Pads are great for work spaces where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt and are often used in applications where an adhesive-backed disc may be too aggressive.
Many Sizes to Accommodate Project Needs
Our Standard Abrasives™ Hook and Loop Disc Pad are attached to different-sized shanks, so users can choose the right length for their specific application. Some projects may require a longer shank, whereas other projects will require a shorter one. These shanks attach to the rotary tool or die grinder. The pads themselves also come in different-sized diameters, so users can select the right disc for the workpiece surface area.
Altogether, the Standard Abrasives™ Hook and Loop Disc Pad allows for quick and easy disc attachment and removal, enhancing productivity and adding an extra level of efficiency and ease to your industrial applications.
